The 7 best post-brunch Happy Hours in Dubai on a Friday

Let’s be honest; when you brunch, you don’t do it by halves. 

Generally, by the time 4pm rolls around, you have no intention of heading home so you’re probably looking at a solid twelve hours (if you’re hardcore) of drinking (and paying full price for drinks) ahead of you. When you’ve already spent a fair bit of cash on a brunch…this is total madness…but you still do it. 

Until NOW friends. We’ve scoured the city to bring you the best Friday evening Happy Hours and drinks deals. Make your way to any of these, post-brunch for a couple of extra hours of discounted drinks. You can thank us the day after the hangover…

7. Bidi Bondi – The Palm Jumeirah 

A word of warning for this one: despite the snazzy location this is a laid-back Aussie surf bar so you may be a little out of place if you rock up in your heels or finest chinos. The deal goes until 7 pm, which gives you just enough time to make your way there and guzzle through this awesome offer, which is AED 130 for five selected drinks OR AED 130 for four selected drinks and a meal. Yep, we told you this one was pretty good. 

When? Fridays and Saturdays, 12 pm – 7 pm

6. Perry & Blackwelder’s – Madinat Jumeirah 

Finished a brunch somewhere in the Madinat? Still thirsty but too full to make any real movement to a different location? If that sounds about right, this spot is perfect for you. A daily Happy Hour with 50% of selected drinks is the perfect wallet-friendly way to enjoy some post-brunch drinks at this authentic American smokehouse. If you’re still feeling peckish (then you definitely didn’t brunch right) have a nibble of some of their famous chicken wings tossed in honey mustard sauce.

When? Daily, 5pm to 8pm (50% of selected beverages and selected drinks AED 29) 

5. Original Wings & Rings – DIFC

This cool sports bar offers a cheerful post-brunch Happy Hour that lasts for FOUR HOURS; so if you manage to make your way through this one after a brunch…it’s safe to say you’ll be ready for bed at the end of it. They haven’t held back on the Happy Hour menu either, with everything from shots, (dangerous) hops, spirits, grape and even nibbles at discounted prices. Drinks start at AED 15 for half pints and AED 20 for a glass of grape. 

When? Daily, 4pm to 8pm 

4. Aquara Lounge – Dubai Marina Yacht Club

Whether you had brunch here or anywhere in the Marina area, this is the perfect spot for some sundowners at discounted prices. Take in the incredible views of the Dubai Marina and lust at yachts, you’ll probably never be able to afford, while enjoying house drinks for AED 25…(hey, if you keep following these great deals, who knows; maybe one day you will own a yacht).

When? Daily 6pm – 8pm

3. The Observatory – Marriott Harbour Hotel, Dubai Marina

Maybe steer clear if you’ve had a few too many, because the view from this 52nd floor will no doubt leave you feeling dizzy. Usually a classy spot, this place comes alive at brunch so expect a live DJ and a buzzy atmosphere if you manage to make your way here. Drinks for AED 20, some unreal views of Dubai and trendy interiors; there’s more than one reason to hit up this Happy Hour. 

When? Fridays, 5pm – 8pm

2. Crabby Hour at the Crab Tavern – Level 9, Media One Hotel

The classic American surf and turf bar, located on the ninth floor of the Media One Hotel is perfectly prepped to handle all the post-brunchers. It starts at 5pm which gives you plenty of time to down your drinks at brunch and make your way here. They’ve got great offers on certain cocktails, hops and glasses of grape go for AED 25 each and they’ve even got two Happy Hours in one night – so if you feel like a quick snooze after brunch (probably in a toilet somewhere) you might just make the second Happy Hour later on. 

When?  Daily, 5pm-8pm and 11.30pm – 3am

1. Friday Funday Drinks Brunch at McGettigan’s – JLT / DWTC

This is the ULTIMATE in post-brunch madness. 

Do you want the fun of the brunch without the temptation of eating your weight in spuds, carvery and desserts? Then the McGett’s drinks brunch (the hip kids call this a drunch) is made for you. Join the fun at typical Irish pub McGettigan’s later in the evening; this spot always pulls in a great crowd for brunch so by the time you arrive for ‘drunch’ at 5pm the place is guaranteed to be hopping. 

OR, if you’ve very feeling very brave, try this one straight after brunch. McGettigan’s call it the ‘perfect brunch top up’…we tried it once and now know it as ‘that Friday we’ll never get back’. 

When? Fridays, 5pm – 8pm AED 199 for non-stop drinks
