6 things to do this Easter in Dubai

Avatar

Yes! It’s that time of the year when all mums and dads are counting down to the much-welcomed easter break. A pause from school-runs, projects, extra-classes. Instead, you swap routine with fun and games, or screaming kids, depending on what mood your little ones are in.

With Easter just around the corner, we’ve picked out the best spots in the city to celebrate with your family. From egg hunts and Easter bunnies to traditional Easter meals, the next two weekends are full of fun.

Hope you have an, erm, egg-citing time!

A.O.C French Brasserie at Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach

Expect a touch of tradition at A.O.C French Brasserie’s Easter celebration. The family brunch includes spring roast lamb with seasonal accompaniments, as well as a dessert room that boasts the largest éclair and macaron. You needn’t worry about the little ones either as the themed play area (hint: angry flying creatures) is their go-to spot for the afternoon. With a mini buffet, electronic games, as well as coloured Easter eggs and sweet treats available, they will be happily occupied.

Friday, 25th March from 1pm to 4pm; from AED 230 for adults; children between 13 to 17 years dine at half price, ages 12 and below are complimentary (maximum of two per paying couple)

The Boulevard Kitchen at Manzil Downtown Dubai

An all-you-can-eat Easter buffet plus beverages such as Chocolate Delight and Easter Nog for you to sip on, oh, and an egg hunt to complete the afternoon…what’s not to love about the Boulevard Kitchen’s Easter Brunch? Throw in some spring decorations and children’s activities (read: paints, felt-tip pens and crayons at the ready for Easter themed arts and crafts) and you have your ideal family day out. Word of advice: if the kids refuse to leave, don’t fret, you can sit back and puff away some hubbly bubbly (inclusive in the package).

Sunday, 27th March from 1pm to 4pm; from AED 195 for adults; AED 95 for children between 6 to 12 years, ages 5 and below are complimentary

Feast at Sheraton Grand Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road

If you and Jr. are foodies make your way to (and indulge at) Feast. Leave your passports at home because this spot ensures an around-the-world culinary tour without having to leave the city. The aromas of the open kitchens will transport you to the streets of Malaysia, villages of India or even the chateaux of France. Standout dishes of this brunch include the Lamb 26 (cooked three ways and served with not one, not two, but 23 accompaniments), mighty fresh Kelly Galaway oysters and assorted Tapas. Reason why you might love it a little more than your offspring: each signature dish has a cheeky beverage to match.

The Farm at Al Barari

At The Farm the focus isn’t just the food, but also on having fun. Get your cameras ready for family pictures with the Easter bunny or cheer the little ones (ages 2 to 8) as they take part in activities such as the egg hunt or potato sack race. The shy ones can enjoy arts and crafts or get their faces painted. And when hunger sets in, you can dig into panko crusted tiger shrimps, lemon rosemary corn fed chicken or saffron shrimp curry. End the meal with a sinfully tasty chocolate delight, topped with homemade vanilla ice-cream.

Sunday, 27th March from 9am to 2pm, à la carte prices

Le Patio at St. Regis Dubai

Good weather looks like it’s here to stay and what better way to celebrate Easter than the great outdoors? The stylish courtyard of this swanky new property will host children’s activities and an egg hunt for Easter. While you enjoy bites from various (by which we mean 16) food stations – everything from cold cuts and carvings to grills and seafood – the kids can top up their plates with nibbles from a display of their fave foods put up just for them. And if you believe the party isn’t complete without some great music. They’ve heard you! There’s no room for a boring playlist here…enjoy live music instead.

Aquaventure waterpark at Atlantis, The Palm

Water babies can rejoice! Our fave summer spot promises an Easter like never before. Navigate the River Rapids at Aquaventure finding one (or more) of the 50,000 foam eggs that will be released into the water. You can then swap these for sweet treats. Quite an ‘eggs-change’ we must say. (Psst…find Dubai 92’s special eggs and you stand a chance of winning annual passes to the waterpark, as well as Dive Atlantis, dolphin and sea lion experiences). The good news: your Easter pass entitles you to an all-day access. I.e: added time on the thrilling waterslides and wave pools. See you in the water!

Monday, 28th March from 8am onward; from AED 240 per person
