Dubai Police Foiled Two Men Selling A Woman On WhatsApp For AED5,500

Four men were arrested in connection with the attempted sale of a woman via WhatsApp.

Two Bangladeshi men were sentenced to five years in prison, both found guilty of human trafficking, while two other men were sentenced to five years in prison for aiding and abetting the crime, according to the Khaleej Times.

The men were trying to use the messaging platform WhatsApp to sell a woman for AED5,500, before they were raided by Dubai Police.

The men were running a ‘prostitution den’

The victim was working as a maid in Abu Dhabi when she was introduced to a woman who promised her a part-time job for in Dubai AED1,500 per month.

In January, the victim arrived in Dubai where she was told she had no choice but to work as a prostitute, according to reports.

In February, she was told to pack her bags, before police raided the den. She had no idea the men were trying to sell her.

The men were also convicted of running a prostitution den, and bringing men to have sex with the victim.
