Abu Dhabi could be in for a cable-car network if talks are anything to go by.

According to reports, The Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport in the emirate is looking at introducing the cars at Al Maqtaa and Al Bahya corniche.

According to Khaleej Times, the project would span over 160,000sqm, and cost around AED650 million.

The stations would include a stop at Khalifa Park, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi.

The idea is just in discussion phases, but a DMAT statement said the aim would be to promote Abu Dhabi as a global tourist hub and make it one of the best places to work, live and visit.
