Abu Dhabi Roads Are Going To Get A Lot Quieter Thanks To These New Restrictions
Good news for drivers!
Abu Dhabi has placed a ban on trucks and other heavy vehicles from driving on certain main roads during peak traffic hours.
The aim is to reduce accidents and ease traffic flow
The decision, made by Abu Dhabi Police and the Department of Transport, aims to ease the flow of traffic on major roads as well as reducing the number of accidents and increase road safety.
The restrictions will begin on January 1, 2018.

Heavy vehicles will not be permitted to drive on main roads during peak hours
In the morning between 6:00am and 9.30am and from 3:00pm to 6:00pm heavy vehicles and trucks will have to use alternative routes.
Drivers who do not follow the restrictions will be subject to a AED 1000 fine and four black points.
