A New Rule Means You’ll Be Able To Eat Emirati Food At All Abu Dhabi Hotels

A new programme administered by Abu Dhabi’s tourism commission will require the capital’s four- and five-star hotels to up their offerings of Emirati cuisine.

The ‘Emirati Cuisine & Hospitality Capacity Building Programme initiative’ will require all-day dining restaurants in hotels to serve a minimum of three items of Emirati cuisine, according to The National newspaper.

Dishes will be clearly labelled with the food dish and information on the dish’s origins and histories, in an attempt to share the UAE’s rich heritage with guests of the hotels.

The Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA) will also endeavor to train staff on Emirati cuisine.

Currently the capital has a specific Emirati restaurant, Mezlai, at Emirates Palace

As well as limited options at other venues.
