Parking Fines Are Thankfully Going To Get Cheaper In Abu Dhabi
Parking fines are being reduced in Abu Dhabi, it was announced on Saturday.
The Integrated Transport Centre of the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport (DMAT) released a statement on reducing parking fines: “As part of its plans to offer the best services and improve Abu Dhabi’s Parking Division”.
The fines
Fines for illegal parking in residential areas will be reduced to AED200, down from AED500.
The fine for parking in bus and taxi bays is being halved – AED500 from the previous AED1,000.
Using a ticket or permit from the incorrect area will be AED100 instead of AED200.
Two new fines have been introduced; avoiding paying fines will incur an AED1,000 cost and using fake tickets or permits will be an AED10,000 fine.
Other fines are staying the same.
