Two Men Pretended To Be Police Officers And Thought They Were Going To Get Away With It

Two males dressed up as security officers took a drunken man into their custody and forced him to withdraw AED9,000 from his account.

The two men, who were Asian, took in another Asian man as they had noticed he was drunk. 

The ‘fake’ police officers accused the man of drinking alcohol without a license and said they would only release him if he gave them money.

They faked authority over the victim

They put the victim in their car, where they forced him to go to an ATM and withdraw large amounts of cash before letting him go.

The victim later on went to report the incident to authorities where police investigated and prosecuted the men in The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance. The trial has been adjourned until August 28.
