Tweets from Dubai Media office yesterday revealed Dubai’s aim to have 25% of its buildings 3D printed by 2030, in a clear bid to position itself as a leading hub of 3D printed technology.

Four months ago, we saw the first EVER offices printed using a 3D printer in the DIFC and the results were incredible.

An industry with an expected worth of $300 billion (in 15 years)

In a statement released by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai aims to ‘exploit technology for the service of humanity and promote the status of the UAE and Dubai as a leading hub of the technology by 2030.’ This industry could be a major part of Dubai’s future economic planning.

“Our vision for development is driven by a deep understanding of the future needs, and built on proactive ideas because we want to be in first place globally.”
