All schools and universities in the UAE will be closed on Thursday

The Ministry of Education has announced that all schools and universities in the UAE will be closed, it comes after extreme weather has caused chaos on the roads and damaged many properties including GEMS American Academy school in Abu Dhabi. The school’s roof was blown off but no injuries were reported.

Many schools in Abu Dhabi and Dubai were closed throughout the day today, as were businesses. There is expected to be further closures in the public and private sector workplace as more bad weather is expected for most of the day on Thursday.

The good news is the sun will be back with his hat on from Friday…phew!
