Alserkal Is Doing All Kinds Of Cool Stuff This Summer And It's All FREE
And YOU can go along
Alserkal Avenue is always a happening place, with its many art galleries, events, and things to do.
And this summer is no exception.
There's plenty happening as part of its summer programme: Sensing Memory.
The programme is open to the public, and free to attend, and is on until September 15.
Here are a few of the parts you can get involved in
App coding workshops
We navigate apps with a mix of intuition and learned gestures. In this workshop led by Project Code, participants will learn how memory plays a role in developing an app’s user journey. They also get hands-on experience in coding and building the app’s interface. — 6 August | 6:30PM A4 Space Loft Free entry. No previous coding experience required. To register, email email@example.com with the subject line ‘App-building'
Presentations and exhibits
The Arish, or palm leaf, has been used as material for making traditional buildings in the Arabian peninsula for generations. As part of our 'Sensing Memory' Summer Programme, we're hosting 'Revival: Arish Architecture', an interactive presentation by architect Asna Moazzam that explores the history of arish, its uses in traditional habitable structures in the Gulf, and the path to its revival. — 4 August | 4-6PM Nadi Al Quoz Free and open to the public. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line 'Revival'.
