A huge construction resort worth AED385 million has been awarded as part of the bigger Deira Islands project.

This is a joint venture between Nakheel and RIU Hotels & Resorts which totals a cost of AED670 million

The beach front resort will feature an 800-room hotel and waterpark

The contract was signed this week

The building is expected to be completed in 2019

The hotel chain is Spanish and is particularly popular in the Caribbean

Once complete Deira Islands is expected to have a population of 250,000

While bringing 80,000 jobs and adding 40km to Dubai’s coastline
