Dubai Municipality Is Cracking Down On Electronic Cigarette Smoking In Shopping Malls

The Dubai Municipality has re-emphasized that smoking e-cigarettes at in public places is illegal.

Shopping malls have now been directed to encourage their security personnel to put signs and warnings on the entrances and to remind them politely about the ban.

But should people repeat these practices, the security officer has the right to resort to the police to take the necessary measures

According to the federal anti-smoking law (which includes e-cigarettes) that was issued in 2009, a person found smoking in prohibited places can be fined up to AED 1,000.
