Dubai Is Such A Cool City That It’s The First City In The World To Have Its Own Font
You’ll soon be able to live and breathe Dubai even more, with a new font designed especially for the city.
In collaboration with Microsoft, the Executive Council of Dubai launched Dubai Font for users of Office 365 – officially becoming the first city to have its own font.
Available in 23 languages, the font is in two typefaces: Latin and Arabic and Dubai residents can download the font from the website free of charge.
The Dubai Font is in three styles: ‘Dubai’, ‘Dubai Medium’ and ‘Dubai Light’, available to more than 180 countries and more than 100 million users of Office 365 around the world
The font is designed by Dr. Nadine Chahine in collaboration with a team from global agency, Monotype. It is developed as a font with unique specifications that aims to encourage self-expression and reading.
“It is a way to help people from different cultures and nationalities to express themselves, which reflects the values of happiness, respect and tolerance that Dubai hold. “
His Excellency Abdullah Al Shaibani, Secretary General of Executive Council of Dubai
The font has its own website www.dubaifont.com and an Instagram handle – @dubaifont.
HH Sheikh Hamdan has directed government institutions in the Emirate of Dubai to adopt the font in government correspondences, saying the launch of the Dubai Font to the world is a step towards being ranked first in the digital world.
