The news tennis fans in Dubai have been waiting for.
After a notable absence last year, Roger Federer is back for this year’s Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. The 37-year-old tennis legend has long been a fan of Dubai, he has a home here and has spent many breaks during the tennis season training here.
Year-on-year he was a regular at the Dubai tournament, so following last year’s break, it’s huge news that he’s back and joining the stellar line-up AND bidding for his EIGHT Dubai title.
Naomi Osaka, one of the year’s most exciting tennis stars is also joining
The Japanese, American star who has two back-to-back Grand Slams under her belt is joined by Wimbledon champ Angelique Kerber, two-time Major winner Petra Kvitova, Daria Kasatkina, Simona Halep, Elina Svitolina, Caroline Wozniacki and many more… Forming one amazing ladies line-up that includes nine of the world’s top-10 ladies!
Federer faces fierce competition for that eight title
World No.7 Marin Cilic, No.9 Kei Nishikori, No.11 Karen Khachanov, No. 12 Borna Coric and No.15 Stefanos Tsitsipas are ready to go for the men’s* round one, which kicks off on Monday, February 25.
