If you’ve been to Gulfood, then you’ve probably noticed the abundance of foods on display…and what happens to them after might be a bit problematic.

However, a food bank wants to take those food and distribute them amongst the needy in the UAE with the help of charity organisations.

Called the UAE Food Bank, this food collector will collect all the remaining foods at the end of the food-trade show. It has already provided seven containers placed in various locations inside the exhibition hall for this purpose

With the help of authorities, this food-bank will collect anything from left-overs to fresh food items.

After the exhibition the food gets inspected by a special team of 11 Dubai Municipality members and charities.

Previously collecting more than 600,000kg of food in 2017 – the bank distributed food to 80,000 workers, 12,000 families and served more than 170,000 cooked meals in total.

The UAE’s Food Bank is always there to collect food surplus

It collects fresh and canned leftovers from restaurants, hotels, farms, factories and food markets to distribute in and out of the UAE.
