Good News: You Can Park Anywhere In Dubai For Free On Hijri New Year

Dubai residents always love official holidays, because it usually means FREE parking everywhere!

Such is the case for this long weekend after the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Wednesday that parking anywhere in the emirate would be completely free, thanks to the religious day of Hijri New Year. Muharram 1 is likely to fall on Saturday or Sunday, depending on the moon sighting.

 

 

 

RTA also announced its schedule for the week, in case you need to make sure:

Buses-

Anyone taking the Dubai bus should take note that during the holiday, this is the schedule as follows:

Main Bus Stations (including Gold Souq) will operate from 4.25am to 00.59am (past midnight). Ghubaiba Station will be in service from 4.26am to 00.43am (past midnight). Sub-stations (including Satwa) will start from 5am to 11pm except for Route C01 operating around-the-clock from Satwa. Qusais Station will run bus service from 4:34am to 00:08am (past midnight). Al Quoz Industrial Station will open from 5:05am to 11.35pm. Jebel Ali Station will operate from 5am and continue up to 11.22 pm.

Dubai Tram

Dubai Tram will be operating from Saturday to Thursday from 06:00 am to 01:00 am (of the following day). On Friday, the tram service hours will be from 09:00 am to 01:00 am (of the following day).

Dubai Metro

During the holiday, Metro Stations on the Red Line will be operating from 05:00 am to 00:00 am (midnight) during the holiday while the Green Line will be operating from 05:30 am to 00:00 am (midnight).
