Lionel Messi wins Best Player Of the Year at Dubai Globe Soccer Awards

Lionel Messi beat off stiff competition from Cristiano Ronaldo and Gianluigi Buffon to take the coveted Best Player of the Year award at the Dubai Globe Soccer awards on Sunday night. He was awarded the trophy by His Excellency Khalifa Sulaiman, Dubai Protocol and Hospitality Director. 

FC Barcelona pretty much cleaned up taking Best Club, Best President for Josep Maria Bartomeu and Best Media Attraction in Football. Player Career Awards went to Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo.

Best GCC Player of the Year went to Saudi Arabia’s Yasir Al-Shahrani.
