Nol Cards Have Just Become A LOT More User Friendly

Pretty much everyone in Dubai owns a NOL card. Some of us even own two – one gold, one silver depending on how rich we feel on any particular day (or because rush hour in the silver section of the Metro is an absolute nightmare). According to the Dubai Media Office, since their introduction in 2009, there have been 3.4 Billion Nol processes recorded and daily rates have now hit 2.4 million per day. 

NOL cards certainly have their advantages, and now they’ve just added one more ‘pro’ to their list: Android users can finally top up via their phone. Hooray. That means no more queueing-up at one of the top-up machines during rush hour. Incredible.

Basically, customers will be able to top-up their card instantly, and buy a bus or metro permit without visiting tickets counter. Services will be paid through entering details of customer’s credit card to the app in coordination with the Smart Dubai Government.

. أعلنت #هيئة_الطرق_والمواصلات عن اعتزامها اطلاق النسخة النهائية لمشروع “التعرفة الذكية” للجمهور خلال شهر أكتوبر المقبل وذلك بإطلاق خدمات جديدة على تطبيق المواصلات العامة، وإجراء عدة تحسينات على الخدمات الذكية المتوفرة في التطبيق بهدف تسهيل تقديم الخدمات للجمهور. سيتم استخدام تقنية”NFC”  لدعم خدمات التطبيق واطلاق خدمات جديدة بشأن استخدام #بطاقة_نول كوسيلة دفع تعرفة الخدمات المقدمة عبر تطبيق المواصلات العامة. ستساعد هذه التقنية الحديثة على قراءة وتحديث بطاقة نول بشكل مباشر وستتوفر هذه التقنية في أجهزة “الأندرويد”. سيصبح بمقدور المتعامل إعادة تعبئة بطاقة نول بشكل فوري، وشراء تصريح الدخول للحافلات والمترو دون الحاجة لشباك التذاكر وسيتم دفع قيمة الخدمات عبر إدخال بيانات بطاقة المتعامل الائتمانية من خلال التطبيق بالاشتراك مع بوابة دبي الذكية، بالإضافة إلى العديد من  الخدمات الجديدة على التطبيق مثل  توفير خاصية تحويل  رصيد من بطاقة لأخرى و الاستعلام عن سجل الرحلات التي تمت من خلال بطاقة نول.سوف تسهم هذه الخدمة في رفع معدلات رضى المتعاملين الذي يتصدر أجندة الهيئة وكذلك تعزيز مبادرة “المدينة الذكية” التي اطلقتها حكومتنا الرشيدة عبر تطوير خدماتها. #RTA is gearing up for the launch of the final version of the Smart Fare project to the public in October this year.The new services will be added to the Public Transport App, and the smart services on the app will be upgraded to provide streamlined services to the public. The upgraded app uses (NFC) to support the current services and enable the launch of new services relating to the use of #NOL card as a means of payment for services provided through the app. it will be possible to read and update NOL cards directly through smart-phone which will be supported by Android devices. The customer will be able to top-up #NolCard instantly, and buy a bus or metro permit without visiting tickets counter. Services will be paid through entering details of customer’s credit card to the app in coordination with the Smart Dubai Government. The new services will include credit transfer from a card to another, and inquiry about journeys made through NOL card. It will add to customers’ satisfaction rating which tops RTA’s agenda, and support the Smart City initiative launched by Dubai Government for upgrading services. #RTANews
