RTA’s Plan For Tackling Traffic In Dubai On NYE Looks Pretty Fool-Proof
Dubai on December 31 is all fun and games unless you get stuck in the NYE traffic. Millions of people from around the world fly down to the emirate to get the year-end festivities started, and traffic at that time can be pretty horrid.
Thank god for the Roads and Transport and Authority (RTA) and the Dubai Police, they have got your backs this NYE with their solid traffic plans.
According to RTA …
“Based on lessons learned from last year, an integrated plan has been mapped out to move the public from the event site to their destinations which include setting up an ad hoc pedestrian crossing on Sheikh Zayed Road near the Business Bay Station to facilitate the movement from and to the other side of the road such that there will be two temporary crosswalks on Sheikh Zayed Road.”

Apart from this, the RTA also announced that all paid parking zones are free of charge from Sunday, December 31, until Monday, January 1, except at multi-level parking lots.
