This New Safety Feature Will Help Reduce Accidents On Some Of Sharjah’s Busiest Roads

Rash and speeding drivers, beware! Sharjah Police has made their mission to reduce accidents and penalize drivers who are flouting safety rules like it’s nobody’s business.

New mobile radar cameras will be installed on some of the busiest roads in Sharjah, so if you’re travelling to the city soon, you may want to watch your speedometer very closely.

The new speed cameras will be located on Al Dhaid Road, Maliha Road and Mohammed Bin Zayed Road

These new mobile speed radars are programmed to watch traffic from both sides of the road and catch more than one violation at the same time.

Speed limits on the news roads will be cut from 120kph to 110kph, and will come into effect from October 15

This new traffic move to improve safety on the UAE roads is in line with the country’s National Agenda 2021 vision to make UAE one of the safest and secure countries in the world.

Speed Limit Adjustments

The speed limit in central Sharjah was recently reduced to 100kph from 120kph after the mobile speed radars caught more than 1500 speeding violations in December last year. That means the speed cameras will flash every time whenever someone speeds at even 101kph.
