The Louvre Abu Dhabi Could Be Opening Any Day Now

It’s one of the most anticipated buildings in the world at the moment – and the Louvre Abu Dhabi could announce its official opening day quite soon if reports are correct. 

In a statement made to Arabian Business, representatives stated: “Construction of Louvre Abu Dhabi is in its final stages. The building will then enter an important preparation phase, essential for a museum of this magnitude that includes testing.”

The Louvre Abu Dhabi’s twitter account also posted a tweet that said: “The opening date is expected to be announced soon.”

The structure was designed by architect, Jean Nouvel

The announcement for The Louvre Abu Dhabi was made in 2007, and was due to open in 2016. 

It’s located within the Saadiyat Cultural District, alongside Manarat Al Saadiyat and the Zayed National Museum.
