The RTA Is Closing Some Roads For Upgrades And They’ll Be Closed For A While
The RTA has announced ongoing road closures around both sides of Sheikh Zayed Road in regards to the Al Wasl Street Improvements Project.
The roads will be closed from Friday March 10 until July 2018 according to the RTA and ongoing diversions will be in place.
A map of the road closures was released by RTA
The main streets affected are Umm Al-Sheef Street, Latifa bint Hamdan Street and Al-Zomorrud Street and includes the service road parallel to SZR on the seaside of the road in the area.
The closures will ultimately be for the best
“The diversions underway are required for constructing several bridges providing a direct link with Al Wasl Street (West) passing through Umm Al-Sheef Street to Al Khail Street (East), Latifa bint Hamdan Street and the Sheikh Zayed Road (North & South). Such bridges will considerably ease the traffic flow on Sheikh Zayed Road, and significantly save time & effort of road users,” added Nabeel.
