This Is The Second UAE Football Player Fined For Having ‘Unethical Hair’ In A Week
If you’ve thought to yourself while reading this, “how can hair be unethical?” then you’re probably on the right track.
Al Ain’s midfielder Caio, who is Brazilian by origin, joined the Al Wahda team back in 2016. He became the second football player fined for having “unethical hair” in the UAE.
He was fined AED1,000 by the UAE FA’s disciplinary committee for adorning the haircut.
What hair style you may ask?
Players in the team were advised to stay clear of mohawks or shaved sides on their hair, otherwise they were at risk of getting fined.
He wasn’t the first player to be fined for his hair too
Another player Murad Batna, from Morocco, received a similar fine for the exact same offense just a week prior.
Both players were found to have breached the appropriate hairstyles for players in keeps with the “country’s cultural norms.”
