Nothing says glam festivities like Christmas day at The Waldorf. Come here for a traditional set up (minus the snow, of course), and a brunch which features a huge selection of international cuisines and holiday classics. An absolute must try are the traditional French snails in garlic butter, a (surprisingly) tasty alternative to a Christmas roast, or, keep it old-school and head for one of the carving stations where you’ll find an incredible roasted rack of lamb and yorkshire puddings to rival your mums. Where better to spend your Christmas day than at the Ritz? Expect Christmas carols and apparently even Santa is making an appearance (he probably wants to chill here after such a busy night). Zuma will predictably offer up some of the best sushi in town, but as well as that they have some other tasty dishes for you to get stuck into. The jumbo tiger prawns with yuzu pepper or the shiitake mushroom skewers with garlic and butter soy will both have you weak at the knees…all this and there’ll be some festive surprises in store too. This is a New York style, à la carte JG Kitchen brunch. A seriously special menu from the three Michelin-starred chef Jean Georges Vongerichten is available; expect restaurant classics such as the grilled NY sirloin in tamarind steak sauce with crunchy potatoes and a totally new festive menu that the kitchen will release closer to the big day.

Christmas Lunch or Dinner at La Porte des Indes – The Address, Dubai Mall
For a less traditional option, this is the spot to head to. Try a whole range of options seasoned with special spices; the Tandoori Salmon is super tasty and definitely one to look forward to. Their French cuisine also gets an Indian twist with Foie Gras, tandoori seared and served on a honey naan bread with a fig and ginger chutney. The set menu comes with beverage choices such as eggnog and mulled grape.

A favourite of the Brit crowd (this can be a pro or a con…you to decide), these guys are offering up a three-course set menu for a very reasonable price. We’re already salivating over the Gravlax of Atlantic salmon with horseradish crème fraiche and the roast with all the festive trimmings (and yes, of course there’ll be brussels sprouts on the menu). Located in Souk Madinat, this is perfect for family and friends to share a seriously festive Christmas.
