8 Of The Most Exciting Things At The Region’s First Ever Games Con
Games Con, the ultimate gaming festival, is here in the region for the first time ever and there is just SO MUCH going on.
Expect cosplays, e-sports, tournaments, competitions and chances to play unreleased 2018 games and a lot more
It is taking place on 23 – 25 November 2017 at ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre) and it’s organised by the same team that bring you Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) so you know just how great it is going to be.
Here’s what to expect at the region’s first ever gaming festival next week
1. An eSports Tournament with a prize pool of more than AED 73,000
Test your competitive skills at the eSports tournament for a chance to walk away with a chance to win a chunk of the combined prize pool of more than AED 73,000 in cash!
2. Play unreleased games for the ultimate bragging rights over your friends
Games Con will be showcasing some of the most anticipated unreleased titles for the first time in the region wayy in advance before they officially hit the shelves!
Be one of the first in the region to play Dragon Ball FighterZ, Dissidia NT – Final Fantasy, Dynasty Warriors 9, Monster Hunter: World, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, Attack on Titan 2, Gravel.
3. Meet your favourite international and regional YouTubers
Representing the YouTube gaming community is Ali A, Claire Siobhan, Vikkstar and Zerkaa who will battling it out live on stage on multiplayer titles such as Mario Kart Deluxe 8, Pokken Tournament and Forza Motorsport 7.
AND local YouTube legend King Madness will also be making a special appearance to match his gaming prowess against the fans.
4. And your favourite international voice artists
Voice actors Chloe Hollings (Overwatch, Widowmaker); D.C Douglas (Resident Evil/One Piece/Star Trek Enterprise) and Brina Palencia (Mad Moxxi) are confirmed to make an appearance, and will be doing meet and greets with fans as well as creating personalised voice recordings for you to show off to your friends with.
5. Get involved in game design and development workshops
Dedicated to emerging brands and developers and designed for all age groups and experience levels, the aim of these sessions is to inspire young people to get into the gaming industry and are free for Games Con ticket holders!
6. Meet your favourite regional Game Teams
For all those competitive gamers, out there, Klasu, Otterpanda, Saaed, Dizzyyand Moeleley from Yalla eSports fame will all be present this year playing their competitive game of choice for the crowds, and will be joined by other top competitive players from Nasr eSports for talks and meet and greets.
7. Shop the latest in gaming innovation and hardware
Brands such as PlayStation, MSI, Dell – Alienware, HP Omen and HTC Vive will all be showcasing their latest desktops, laptops and hardware designed to run any triple A game you can throw at it.
8. Take part in a cosplay contest and win prizes!
