Six of the best places to get smoothies in Dubai

Avatar

We’re always big fans of getting our five-a-day in the
easiest way possible, and with a smoothie, it couldn’t be simpler. It’s not a
milkshake and it’s not a juice – a smoothie is that happy medium between refreshing
and full. Whether you like them for breakfast, alongside a healthy lunch or as
an afternoon pick-me-up – chances are there’s a smoothie with your name on it.
Here are some of our favourite places to grab one.

@blend

After a sweaty jog along The Palm’s running track – or more
likely a day sunbathing – head to the new @blend smoothie bar to replenish your
energy levels. This place specialises in drinks to really boost your wellbeing,
and we highly recommend the Greenometer (AED 27) which uses kale, kiwi, green
tea, avocado, apple and cucumber to give you a heady mix of healthy fats and
iron. If that’s not your bag, there are tons of other smoothies on offer,
starting from AED 26.

Pulp!

If you’ve ever hung around the outdoor gym in JBR – minding
your own business, of course – you will have seen countless fine physical
specimens with Pulp cups firmly in their hands. This fruity smoothie joint also
have outlets in Deira and Mall of the Emirates, but we think JBR is the ideal
place to slurp down some tasty vitamins, personally. You can’t go wrong with a
‘Very Berry’ which blends mixed berries, apple juice and frozen yoghurt to
blast any cobwebs away. Prices start at AED 19.

Circle Café

Circle Cafe may be known for their sarnies and salads, but
their smoothies are also worth a shout. Prices start from AED 28 to make your
own (for those particularly fussy drinkers) but their favourites are generally
AED 32, such as the ‘Banana Cocoa’: banana, almond milk, dates, low-fat yoghurt,
cocoa powder and baby spinach. Sounds wrong, but it is actually very right
indeed. Circle have seven stores in Dubai – including a shiny new one at Dubai
Mall – but their online delivery service is also excellent.

Lime Tree Cafe

Lime Tree Cafe really is faultless. Not only do they nail
the naughty desserts, they also get the healthy stuff right, too. They don’t
have a huge smoothie menu in comparison with other places, but as the old
saying goes: it’s all about quality not quantity. The (absolutely delicious)
date and banana ‘Energizer’ does just what it says on the tin/cup and prices
start at AED 26, depending on size. Our favourite branch can be found in the
carpark of Spinney’s in Jumeirah, not as weird as it sounds. (Looking for more guilt-free meals? Try 7 Of The Best Places To Order In A Healthy Meal)

Juice Jars

If you find yourself in the Al Safa hood, then make sure you
schedule in a pit stop at the J3 Mall to try out one of the zesty delights that
Juice Jars has to offer. They have countless different fruity combos to choose
from, but we’re rather fond of the ‘Energy Breakfast’: which is a concoction of
dates, orange, banana and milk. Prices go from AED 18.

Juice World

The stuff of beverage legend, Juice World is a shop which
definitely requires a camera phone upon visiting. This kitsch place in Al Rigga
is worth going just to see the mental sculptures they have made out of fruit
inside, as much as for the drink itself. Again, there are way too many menu
options to list them all, but we’ve always been partial to a strawberry and
banana blend (AED 8 for a small) – it is, after all, a fresh and failsafe
classic. (Also These 10 Healthy Muffin Recipes Will Revolutionise Your Meal Planning)
