Six of the best rooftop bars in Dubai

Avatar

Stop holing yourself up in windowless bars every weekend!
Make the most of the stunning city on your doorstep with one of these cool
rooftop bars. After all, everyone knows the best thing to serve a drink with,
is a killer view. Make the most of it before the weather turns.

40 Kong

Say ‘rooftop bar’ to someone in Dubai and chances are,
they’ll come back at you with 40 Kong. Located at the top (surprise, surprise)
of The H Hotel down near the Trade Centre, this bar and casual dining spot
offers breathtaking views of the downtown cityscape, including the Burj Khalifa
moneyshot. The crowd is cool, the vibe is chilled and drinks start from AED 53
for a glass of grape, which isn’t too bad for Dubai.

Pure Sky Lounge

Straddling the original part of JBR, The Walk, the Pure SkyLounge is the perfect place to watch the sun set with friends. It not only
offers a slick, al fresco bar area, but the sea views are pretty stunning – you
know, if you’re into that idyllic kind of thing. With mixed drinks from AED 60,
you’re not paying over-the-odds for the location, either, which is rare. (Also, check out The 10 Best Lounge Bars in Dubai)

Level 43

Sitting atop of the Four Points by Sheraton, again down near
the Trade Centre, is the practically named Level 43. Which sits on, you guessed
it, the 43rd floor of the hotel. Known to attract a cool, stylish
and cosmopolitan crowd, this place isn’t as laid back as others, but it’s
definitely worth slipping into a pair of heels for a visit; but not you gents,
a shirt will be fine, thanks. With glasses of grape from just AED 45, you can
afford to make a bit of a night of it, too.

Story Rooftop Bar

For those perennially on the hunt for some low-key, hipster
vibes – Story Rooftop Bar in Media City is where the search can end. With
bottles of hops from AED 40, the prices are a bit more relaxed than other places
in Dubai, too. This venue has a cool, laid-back feel, and often gets some good
hip hop nights happening, which as we all know, is the best thing to dance to
once a few drinks turns into a very late night. Check it out for yourself.

Pacha

There are rooftops for chilling out on, and then there are
rooftops to go wild on, this is the latter. Pacha Dubai is one of the swankiest
places to party in Dubai, so their outdoor area is one of the places to see and
be seen. Prince didn’t play this venue for nothing, you know. Don your best
threads and prepare to take in staggering views of the Burj Al Arab and picture
perfect Madinat Jumeirah buildings around you. This place is great for visitors,
but not exactly cheap – many patrons opt for bottle service so it might be
worth saving up a bit before you head down. (Take a look at The 7 best post-brunch Happy Hours in Dubai on a Friday)

Tamanya Terrace

Something of a local for the tired, and poor journalists
that frequent media city, Tamanya Terrace in the Radisson Blu is heaving on a
Thursday night. With prices for a glass of malt starting at AED 38, you can see
why. It is a pocket-friendly, and surprisingly pretty, hidden gem, which offers
brilliant views of the marina from the outside. The crowd are relaxed and thirsty
– if you get our drift – but it’s the ideal place to see off a tough week.
Glasses of grape also start at AED 42, if you don’t fancy hitting the hard
stuff. Friday nights is host to the ‘Night Vibes‘ series for the more eclectic crowd…think the best of music with the best of people.
