2. Pastels Salon Ritz Carlton is the OG of Dubai hair salons
Pastels is modern and laid-back with that added touch of luxury provided by its entry through the Ritz Carlton JBR hotel.
I visited on a Friday morning and the salon was busy with clients who all seemed like regulars… Always a good sign. Jordan Robertson is the new head-stylist at Pastels, with three-plus years experience at New York Fashion week under his belt, he’ll make you feel totally confident as soon as you take your seat.
My hair was a disaster when I arrived, it was in serious need of a cut and colour. My direction was vague but Jordan totally transformed it and I left with the swag of someone who’s totally delighted with their new ‘do. Which is all we really want after a salon trip, amirite?!

Mane is a small salon with a big following, starting out in a tiny JLT located branch, it moved to bigger premises with a bigger staff in just two short years.
When I first visited, the salon was brand new and it’s amazing to see how the business has grown since then.
Sharon was my stylist and she worked wonders on my dead hair. I had no clue what I was looking for, just an update from my current lifeless mop, and Sharon sorted me out with a colour that was a much better fit for my skin tone than the blonde I was trying to work and a brilliant cut to go with it.
Run by Irishman Anthony, if you want beautiful balayage, he’s your man.
