10 Brilliant Work-Friendly Cafes In Dubai That Are Worthy Of Your Time And Money

Avatar

If you’re not a regular 9-5er with an office desk at your disposal, you can go ahead and bookmark this list.

Because you may have noticed that once you start looking for work-friendly cafes, the huge number of eateries at your fingertips in Dubai suddenly starts to dwindle.

Either you need to renew your internet slip hourly (no thanks) or worse still, there are not enough tables with internet sockets (why?!)

Here are ten places you can count on:

10. Revo Cafe – Anantara The Palm

If you live on the Palm, this is an absolutely beautiful cafe to set yourself up for the day.

Floor-to-ceiling windows mean the cafe is bright for much of the day and if you’re got a sweet tooth, the endless treats on this menu will get you through any hard slog.

We won’t lie, this is a foodie favourite as much as it is a workers retreat.

9. Costa Coffee – various locations

With both stand alone venues and spots located across malls in the UAE, Costa is your go-to spot when you need Wi-Fi on the go.

Lovin recommends the Jumeirah Rd branch to get a day’s work done, where the upstairs seating area means you’re nearly always guaranteed some peace and quiet.

8. Circle Cafe – various locations

Circle Cafe has various locations throughout the city and the owners have a brilliant knack for choosing bright and sunny spots.

Your internet access isn’t timed, and the menu has everything from nibbles and sandwiches to mains, smoothies, and coffees; you’ll do well to find something wrong with Circle Cafe as a work spot.

7. Book Munch Cafe – Jumeirah/ Business Bay

At this homely cafe, you’ll find as many regulars curled up with books as you will weekenders trying to get a bit of work done.

If you swing by the Jumeirah branch on weekdays before 9.30am you can grab a free coffee, so early risers this is a good shout for you.

6. Urban Bistro, Media City

This quirky resto in the CNN building is not just for weekdays. Rock up on the weekend, choose any of the wall-lined tables to ensure you’ve got a view of the Media City lake and a plug socket at your disposal for a full day.

The menu is a mix of healthy treats and sweet eats and the large cups of coffee complete everything you need for a desk space away from home.

5. Golositalia, JLT

This little gem hidden away in Cluster C, JLT is a sun trap every morning/afternoon and if the Italian clientele is anything to go by, you can rest assured you’re slurping on quality coffee and excellent fresh pastries all day, ‘erry day.

The internet is hourly, but the stubs for renewal are handed out freely and with plenty of seating, you’ll feel welcome here all day.

4. Nadi Al Quoz

There wouldn’t be a list of creative work spaces in Dubai, without mentioning Nadi Al Quoz.

The beautifully spacious venue in Al Serkal has great coffee, although the swinging chairs and beds will make you want to curl up with a good book, rather than complete a hard day’s grind.

3. Friends Avenue, JLT

Bright, comfortable, and with some of the best almond croissants in town, you could do a lot worse than a day’s work at Friends Avenue.

(And they’ve also recently opened a Motor City branch…winning!)

2. Nathalie’s Cafe, Sports City

Located next to FitRepublik, the mammoth Sports City located gym, Nathalie’s Cafe is always bustling with gym goers.

If it’s a healthy feed you’re after, you’ll find even the nibbles here are delicious, and there are ample small tables for you to set up shop for as long as you please.

1. Light House, D3

This bright and airy concept store and kitchen has the royal seal of approval (HH Sheikh Hamdan, Dubai’s Crown Prince has been spotted there) but that’s not the only reason this spot takes the number one slot.

Sit comfortably either inside or out, get motivated by your surroundings and lap up the serious munch.
