Dubai Roads Are Getting A Huge 500km Of Biking Lanes All Throughout The City

Yesterday HH Sheikh Mohammed, Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, along with HH Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai visited the RTA to review a couple of projects, so it was clear there was some exciting news to come.

And this IS brilliant news for cyclists in the city.

HH has given approval for a whopping 500km of new bicycle lanes according to the National, which no doubt will encourage a healthier lifestyle, decrease car-use and, dare we say it, improve traffic.

The metros are getting an upgrade too

Five metro stations are also getting upgrades to cope with increasing demand. HH Sheikh Hamdan shared the following image to his social media showing the dramatic increase in Metro use since 2009.
