An Irish Teacher Suffered A Horrific Health Scare And Her Family Is Campaigning To Bring Her Home

Avatar

Aisling Brady, a teacher from Ireland, has been living in the UAE since 2016.

An active member of the local community, Aisling was at work when she fainted and was rushed to hospital on November 27. Since then she has undergone a horrific ordeal, and our thoughts are with her family as they’re campaigning to bring her home to a hospital bed in Ireland.

On that day, Aisling suffered three seizures, three cardiac arrests, a stroke which caused serious damage to the brain and a combined total of twelve minutes of hypoxia, leaving both her brain and cardio-vascular system incredibly weak.

This was down to a Pulmonary Embolism in her leg, accelerated by her unusually thick blood and frequent flying.

At one point her family thought there was no hope

If the ambulance had been one minute longer, the outcome would have been incredibly different.

That’s a very scary thought.

Aisling’s family are delighted she has made it this far and are now focusing on the small steps to recovery.

Unfortunately her insurance does not cover emergency evaluation or rehabilitation at home so her parents will need to front these costs.
