A Loyalty Scheme Provider Has Shut Up Shop And Left 40 Staff In The Lurch

The latest in border-fleeing business owners has resulted in top hotel chains being duped, and out millions of dirhams.

According to a report in the Gulf News, Hospitality Dynamics, a company that handled loyalty programmes of several Dubai hotel chains suddenly shut shop leaving debts amounting to over AED2 million.

The Chilean and Hungarian owners left without a trace, after being in business for five years and operating from their 21st floor office in Mazaya Business Tower (BB2) in Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT).

Unfortunately, caught in the line of fire are also their 40 staff members who now stand stranded with visa issues and unpaid salaries

According to reports, an employee with them, detailed that their company also owed around AED1 million to four banks, several thousands to a telecom operator and DEWA and nearly AED500,000 to their staff in salaries – not including gratuity.

An email sent to Hospitality Dynamics’ top management by the company’s Chilean CEO read: “As you may have realised things have not gone well in the past couple of months. Extremely poor trading has driven heavy losses that has made it extremely difficult to recover. We made all efforts to ensure that a suitable work environment was maintained and that salaries were paid, many times not taking our own. Unfortunately events have forced us to try to find a solution from outside Dubai. We have tried bringing investor capital and tried other mechanics to attempt to inject capital into HD. None have come through. For now I must request that you stop operations and do your best to find alternative employment.”

According to reports, emails sent to the CEO and the company vice president remained unanswered.
