A Bus Driver From Pakistan Has Won Gold Worth AED 153,000 In DSF And It’s About To Change His Life

Fate is one hell of a thing. You just never know how your life will change one fine day.

Something similar happened to 57-year-old bus driver, Lal Jan, from Pakistan when he filled out coupons for a raffle organised by the Malabar Gold and Diamonds on the last day of Dubai Shopping Festival. 

Little did he know that he will be announced the winner of the competition and will take home one kilogram of gold worth AED 153,000 ($41,000) in prize.

According to Lal Jan, this prize came at a time when he needed it the most

The father of two has been in the UAE since 1976 and is thankful to the country for providing him with a good life. 

According to Gulf News who spoke to him, he now plans to buy his own bus. 

“My niece is getting married, and I had accompanied my brother to buy the gold for her from Malabar Gold and Diamonds. They gave us some coupons to fill out for the draw and luckily my coupon was the winner.

The prize has brought a lot of joy to our home. It was something we never expected to happen at this time. I was caught up in many financial troubles after helping my friend with rent cheques, and this prize will now help me solve my problem.”
