OMG – It Is So Cold In Some Parts Of The UAE That Ponds Are Freezing

Some residents in Ras Al Khamiah discovered sheets of ice over a pond and pictures and videos of it are all over social media.

The pond has been freezing up as temperatures fall to near 0°C in the area

The video was shared on Thursday morning which, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) weather station, recorded a temperature of 4 °C in Jebel Jais.

This isn’t the first time this has happened though

Lakes and ponds tend to freeze in late January/early February in some parts of the UAE – particularly during late nights and early mornings when it can get relatively cold and temperatures can be close to zero.
