In mark of respect after the passing of Her Highness Sheikha Hessa bint Mohammed Al Nayhan, the mother of the President of the UAE, a three day mourning period began yesterday.
Radio stations observe the three day mourning period; regular channels and music ceases to play and classical music is played across all channels for the duration.
And so, millions who tune in every day are now are now adjusting to classical music on the airwaves. This sums it up
1. One Twitter user described it best
2. Classical music lovers rejoice, this is your time
I wonder if classical music lovers wait for something to happen, to listen to their music on the radio in Dubai. #music

3. Pop music FTW
Listening to nothing but classical music for three days has given me a new found respect for pop/chart music

Conversation soon turned to local matters
4. Classical music VS the Kris Fade breakfast show
I listened to #VirginRadioDubai driving into work today……. that classical music is 100% more entertaining that the Kris Fade Ego Show!

5. Some users jumped to the presenter’s defence
I think I am going to defend @KrisFade here & point out that he has helped so many people in this country by using his platform. Me included & a close friend whose daughter is suffering from a rare disease. Love him or hate him. He uses his platform to help when he can.
