Following the floods in Ras Al Khaimah, a 9-year-old girl has drowned. The Emirati girl fell into a deep pool of rainwater whilst spending the day with her family. She was accompanied by her cousin who also fell into the pool, but was, thankfully, saved.

The 9-year-old's father rescued her cousin but did not manage to save his daughter. Rescuers were dispatched after receiving a call about the incident but did not make it to the girl on time.

Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Mohammed Al Muhairi, head of Al Minei police station, has warned people that these pools are dangerous and not meant for swimming.
