There Is A New Eco-City Being Built In Dubai And It's In The Shape Of A Flower
A new eco-friendly city is being built in the Dubai desert and it's going to be in the shape of a flower!
Desert Rose City has just been given the go-ahead. The city will rely on its own resources to provide transport and communications to those living there, to save energy and recycle waste water, providing more than 40,000 cubic metres of usable water. It will also feature schools, shopping malls, clinics and hospitals, villas and designated housing for Emirati's which will run on renewable energy as well as a having a police station, mosques and auto-recycling of waste. Handy that.
According to Hussein Nasser Lootah, director general of Dubai Municipality, the project embodies the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and is in line with the UAE policy of following a sustainable approach to urbanisation.
He also said that Dubai will make a huge contribution to the development of a low-carbon economy in the region through the city.
