Virgin Holidays is taking its social media game pretty seriously.
It recently tried a little experiment of taking the real-time appeal of social media to broadcast TV. The result: a commercial that was streamed live from 18 locations in eight countries (including the UAE) to a master control room in London and then broadcast as a 60-second spot with a live voiceover during X Factor last weekend.
The activity was to launch Virgin Holidays’ campaign ‘Seize The Holiday’. The company was sending out a pretty straightforward message – individuals do not need to settle for the next best option when planning holidays. What comes across as a trip-of-a-lifetime is actually doable. We totally agree with that!
