Dubai Is Implementing A System To Make Drinking Water Even Safer

As Dubai becomes more health and safety conscious, it’s now our drinking water that is getting special treatment. In order to detect the safety of the water, in the five-gallon bottles, a smart labelling system will be implemented. The bottles are set to be tracked for safety by Dubai Municipality. 

The system is designed to ensure that they do not cross the limit for refilling since overusing polycarbonate plastic bottles over the permitted limit can harm a consumer’s health.

Everyday wear and tear from repeated use can cause the plastic itself to break down, this can lead to bacteria that lives in the cracks. As well as this, overusing bottles can release carcinogenic and endocrine disruptive compounds in drinking water – highly toxic and dangerous.

You can also track your bottle’s details via the mobile app, set to launch upon the completion of the system, likely to be seven or eight months from now.
