Brigadier-General Saeed Hamad bin Sulaiman Al Malik, Director of Rashidiya Police Station, personally returned a lost watch to its rightful owner all the way in London.

The British woman, who had forgotten the AED100,000 Rolex in a hotel room in Dubai, was lucky enough that when it was found, authorities were immediately alerted.

Lost and Found department contacted her

Officers of the lost and found department of Dubai Police contacted the British woman once they had found the watch – she expressed her happiness and said that she would collect it when she next came back to the UAE.

After nine months of the woman not showing up, officers began to think of other ways they could return it.

Alternatives lead to them personally returning the watch

Shipping methods were considered, but it was decided against as they didn’t want it to get lost, Colonel Rashid bin Safwan, Director of the Police’s Lost and Found department, said.

Luckily enough, the police were invited for a conference in the United Kingdom, and an officer suggested that they should personally deliver it back.

The Director of Rashidya Police Station did the honours

Brigadier-General Saeed Hamad bin Sulaiman met the British lady and returned the expensive watch, from which she was delighted to have back with her.
