Emirates has warned flyers to avert websites that claim to offer free Emirates tickets.

Winfreetickets.co is a hoax site that offers to give away two free tickets for Emirates and other airlines in exchange of answering a “survey”.

Emirates warns people not to fall for these scams as they are nothing but a hoax

Emirates has become aware of fraudulent websites claiming to offer free airline tickets to those who take an online survey. We advise consumers not to click on, or share these links on social media. Emirates is investigating the source of the scam and will take appropriate legal action against the perpetrators.

The survey includes questions such as:

“Where did you hear about this promotion?”, “How was your experience with Etihad Airways?”, and “Have you ever traveled with Etihad Airways?”

The hoax website is offering similar surveys and “free ticket giveaways” for other airlines including Abu-Dhabi based Etihad, Germany’s Lufthansa, USA’s Virgin America and more.

Similar scams made headlines in 2015 and 2016 as well.

This is not the first time such a hoax took place

In early 2015 and 2016, similar websites of this nature also made headlines in the UAE.

Be careful, peeps.
