Emirati Man Accused Of Violent Rape In A Hotel On The Palm Fails To Appear In Court
A 29 year old Emirati man has been accused of raping a Lebanese friend after inviting her to dinner in a hotel on the Palm.
He then failed to appear in Dubai Court of First Instance on Thursday morning to enter his plea.
The Lebanese woman, a mother, feared for her life during the violent and aggressive attack
The 36 year old woman was invited to dinner with the attacker and was told he had a surprise for her as he had booked her a room at the hotel.
She was told to bring her friend and a male friend of the accused was also present at dinner.
Following the dinner the woman went to her room as arranged by her friend. He then contacted her and asked to come to her room on the pretence of getting a mobile phone charger.
Upon entering her room, the couple then went to the balcony and had some alcoholic beverages.
After the woman refused his flirtations and advances he became violent
He continued to sexually harass her before he grabbed her by her hair and raped her in the hotel room and allegedly threatened to kill her.
After begging for her life for the sake of her children she told him she would not go to the police.
He then let her leave and she immediately informed hotel security and then the police who arrived and arrested the Emirati man.
The woman was then taken to hospital for examination where the defendants DNA was found to be present on the woman.
The accused was due to appear before the court on Thursday morning but failed to do so.
The case has been adjourned until September 18.
