An Emirati Police Officer Has Been Accused Of Raping His Wife And He Pleaded Not Guilty

A 28-year-old Emirati police officer is currently undergoing a trial for allegedly raping his fiancée in 2015.

The incident that occurred over two years ago, happened right after the defendant had proposed to the victim. They proceeded to drive around together when he suddenly parked his car and began sexually assaulting her. 

He pleaded innocence 

The victim stated, “I screamed and begged him not to do anything wrong as we were still engaged then. But he would not listen and told me there was no use screaming as no one was around”. 

The defendant pleaded not guilty as he claimed that she was his wife and it would be unreasonable for someone to rape their spouse.

Defence lawyers are arguing the courts

The Emirati man’s lawyer presented to the court that the he indeed is not guilty, as the two were married at the time and thus what happened was rightful.

Investigations are still ongoing.
