ENOC Has Just Opened The UAE’s First Ever Solar Paneled Petrol Station

Keeping up with Dubai’s efforts to lower it’s carbon footprint, Enoc has opened the country’s first solar-powered petrol station in Dubai. The popular Dubai-owned Emirates National Oil Company said yesterday that the petrol station, located on the Sheikh Zayed Road is covered with solar panels. The panels can generate up to 120 kilowatt hours, which is 30 per cent more than the station actually requires so the excess power generated goes back into the city’s electric grid. This is just one example of the UAE’s plans to build multiple solar farms.
