Famous Fast Food – Mark Wahlberg’s Burger Chain Is Coming To Dubai
Wahlburgers is the best restaurant name, ever.
If there’s one thing Mark Wahlberg knows, it’s diversity. Starting his career as the fresh-faced, mostly-topless teen idol Marky Mark, he’s grown to become one of the world’s biggest movie stars. Something you may not know, however, is that the Ted star has also opened a chain of incredibly successful, family-run burger restaurants – and now he’s bringing them to the Middle East.
The incredibly-named Wahlburgers – run by Boston brothers Mark, Donnie and Paul (the chef) – will be opening 20 outlets throughout the Middle East in the coming months, and there’s a lot of hype about a restaurant in Dubai, which we’re hoping will prompt an appearance from the A-list actor himself.
“We have almost 70 restaurants under contract right now, with various franchisees and deals in different places… We also just made a deal in the Middle East for 20 restaurants.”Mark Wahlberg told Hollywood Reporter
As the subject of reality TV show ‘Wahlburgers’, which has
been running since January 2014, viewers have been able to catch a rare,
behind-the-scenes glimpse of the celebrity-run burger joint, getting a feel for
just what it takes to set up and run a fast food outlet.
Currently in its 4th season, the series has just been commissioned for 18 more episodes – let’s hope one of those is set in Dubai in the not-too-distant future.
Anyway, we're off to watch The Other Guys and have a burger.
