A 32-Year-Old Lawyer Has Been Arrested For Fighting Off Police Officers

A 32-year-old Egyptian lawyer is being charged in the Court of First Instance for physically assaulting two police officers who were trying to arrest him for another case from Dubai Courts.

The officers were allegedly waiting for the defendant to come out of the building, where they approached him, identified themselves, asked him to come with them – that’s when he began assaulting them.

“He shouted saying the police could do nothing to him and that he was a lawyer and would have us fired”

The officers were given instructions by the Dubai Personal Status Courts to arrest the Egyptian as a result of not handing over his ex-wife their daughter’s passport.

The man refused to get in the car and started punching the officers, “We tried to calm him down and showed him our IDs to prove to him we are police, but he would not step in the patrol car but rather resisted and kept shouting. He twisted my arm and pushed me” one of the victims explained.

Even other police officers couldn’t stop the conflict

The defendant was repeatedly refusing to be handcuffed, showing raging resistance and ran inside the building.

Coming down shortly after, with torn clothes and an injured chest, he claimed that the police had caused those injuries to him.

Shortly after, the officers were able to calm the man down and take him to the Bur Dubai police station.
