Filipino Woman In Dubai Got The Most Amazing Surprise After Losing Her Cat In A Fire

Angelie Agoncillo Mangalidan, a 26-year old who works for Etisalat as a sales executive, recently lost her cat in the fire that happened in Al Muraqqabat last week.

The fire that started in a flat on the first floor of the building saw no casualties as firefighters helped rescue 25 individuals as well as stopping the fire shortly after it began on July 9.

Angelie’s cat had suffocated during the fire and passed away. 

But then this Tuesday, Dubai Civil Defence surprised her with a present she’d never forget

As part of the Year of Giving initiative, Major General Rashid Than Al Matroushi, the director-general of Dubai Civil Defence, gifted Angelie a cat that looked similar to the one that she had lost recently. 

Angelie was delighted with the surprise and had named her new cat Cheeno in honour of her late cat, Chico. 

“It is part of the Year of Giving to make residents happy.”
