Forbes recently released its Middle East list of 30 under 30, featuring 30 of the Arab world’s most influential individuals under the age of 30. And of course, it comes to no surprise that many of our UAE residents made it on the list.

Quick reminder, the mode of measure here is that those chosen have to have left an ‘indelible mark in the economy.’

So businesses that heave earned global praise, innovative businesses that have changed its specific niche and media presence ALL play a big role in determining who makes it.

1. Mashal Waqar , Co-founder and COO, The Tempest

Since International Women’s Day is coming up, it’s great to see Pakistan’s pride the 24-year-old Mashal Waqar, based in the UAE, make it onto Forbes list.

Her role for the online blog The Tempest, serving women from ALL over the world has shifted the ideals of digital storytelling- allowing different women a platform to voice out anything and everything and leaving them to feel empowered.

2. Mohammed Assaf, Artist

24-year-old Mohammeed Assaf if a Palestinian singer based in Dubai and making big waaaves in the region’s industry, for sure.

He’s even signed with Platinum Records / MBC Group, with an ever-growing 4.5million following on Instagram- crazy!

3. Balqees, Singer

Thirty-year-old Emirati-Yemeni singer Balqees, known for hits like ‘Majnoun’ and ‘Yoi Yoi Yoi’ has been making hit after hit.

Even with a new baby around, this diva doesn’t stop touring and sharing her beautiful vocals with the world. Admirable.

4. Adel Sajan, Founder of Danube Home

Who in Dubai hasn’t heard of Danube by now?

Well, 29-year-old Adel Sajan has paved his own path by extending his father’s building material company to a successful home furniture store.

5. Sonam Fabiani, Founder of Essevie Limited

It seems 29 is the age to be because this lovely lady who founded the contemporary Brit label, Essevie, has earned her right onto Forbes 30 Under 30 list this year.
