HH Sheikh Mohammed Has Announced a Major Desert Conservation Project In Dubai And It Is Great News For Desert Goers
The very concept of a desert trip in Dubai is going to get an upgrade real soon.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has just announced a new project that will see 10 per cent of Dubai’s total area transformed into an unfenced conservation reserve.
Expect a lot of wildlife viewing, stargazing, air-conditioned yoga, and the longest desert cycling track in the world
The Marmoom Reserve will be spread across 40 hectars with over 10 km of lakes and is to become a hub for all sorts of adventurous activities.
There will be five star observation decks, an outdoor theatre, at least 10 observational decks (to see the some 19 species of endangered animals and birds on the sanctuary), and a bird’s nest platform.

The reserve will also host a series of annual sporting events, which are expected to attract more than 20,000 people a year.
The Marmoom Reserve will be the largest sustainable environment, tourism and recreational project in the UAE.
